HD Hyundai Electric, 41% off its high with no company problem in sight

The stock fell 12.52% on Oct. 15 alone. It is down 15.5% over five trading days and 31.8% since July 20. It rebounded 5.34% on Oct. 16.
There are two recent DART filings. One is a Sept. 30 notice of an investor relations event. The other, on Oct. 15, says the stock's futures and options hit the second-stage price-limit widening trigger on the downside. That is an exchange derivatives notice. It records the size of the drop and does not describe a company issue. News from the past three days shows no accounting, litigation or management problem. It does include a data center power infrastructure tie-up with LG CNS.
Paper Trail's own check records show the KOSPI fell by more than 7% over Oct. 13-15, and more than 200 stocks hit 52-week lows. HD Hyundai Electric was part of that move. The same records show first-half operating profit up 187%, an operating margin of 25% and a debt ratio of 8%. A contract of up to 1.1212 trillion won to supply transformers to a global big tech company was signed in July, with another supply contract disclosed on Aug. 27. Institutions turned net buyers on Oct. 15.
The opposite facts carry equal weight. Brokerage reports from Mirae Asset, Hanwha Investment and others expect third-quarter operating profit below market estimates because of the stronger won. Hana Securities cut its target citing currency pressure. Institutions were net sellers over the past five sessions, and the Oct. 15 buying may be a one-off. The six-month return relative to the market is -46.3%. No company problem is confirmed, yet the stock has fallen further than the market.
Summit Therapeutics, down 20% with no confirmed reason

The stock went from $17.59 on Oct. 9 to $14.63 on Oct. 16, including a 9.4% drop on Oct. 13. It is down 16.8% over five days and up 5.9% since July 17. Recent SEC filings are a Form 4 on Oct. 14, a PRE 14A proxy filing on Oct. 6 and an 8-K on Sept. 29. We could not confirm what the Form 4 reports.
The 8-K says Summit agreed on Sept. 28 to sell convertible preferred stock to an AstraZeneca subsidiary for $2.0 billion. It is priced off $18.3561 per common share, and each preferred share converts into 1,000 common shares. The stock now trades about 20% below that reference price. Conversion would add shares, which is a point against the company. Nothing we checked shows this filing caused the decline. Most of the past three days of news items are quote pages or stock explainers.
Paper Trail's own check records list the completed AstraZeneca investment and a Phase III co-trial with Daiichi Sankyo in triple-negative breast cancer as positives. The two co-CEOs repeatedly bought shares from September 2025 to June 2026, per insider trading filings. The same records show a clinical-stage, loss-making company with ROE of -192.5% and negative free cash flow. Over the past 30 days, 12 earnings estimate cuts outnumbered 4 raises. The Nasdaq fell 2.15% on Oct. 16, which may have weighed on the stock but does not explain all of the drop.
Two things to check next. For HD Hyundai Electric, see how much the won's strength shows up in third-quarter results, expected around Oct. 22 (estimated). For Summit, watch the earnings release around Oct. 20 and any follow-up filings on the AstraZeneca preferred stock.
