Biohaven Ltd. rose 25% because the FDA agreed to review its resubmission

Biohaven Ltd. (BHVN) rose 25% to close at $14.69 because the FDA told the company it has accepted for review the new drug application resubmission for Vyglxia (troriluzole) in spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA). According to an 8-K (a current report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Items 7.01 and 9.01) filed that day, the resubmission included new positive supportive analyses. The FDA considers it a complete response to its Nov. 4, 2025 action letter. It set a user fee goal date, the FDA's target for finishing its review, in the first quarter of 2027, and plans to convene its Peripheral and Central Nervous System Advisory Committee. The filing says the date will come soon.
This is not an approval. It is a procedural step: the resubmission was accepted and an advisory meeting is planned, while the decision comes around the Q1 2027 goal date. Item 7.01 is a "furnished" disclosure. Barron's reported it as the stock's best day in three years, and Stocktwits reported a 36% gain in pre-market trading, so the intraday move was larger than the close. The stock is up 36% from its Oct. 16 close of $10.78 and is back above its Sept. 17 level ($13.89). Dollar volume was about 20% of the roughly $2.2 billion market cap.
Two things show whether the move can last: whether the advisory committee date is announced, and what the committee concludes. That is when expectations turn into an actual review outcome. It is also worth seeing whether volume stays close to Thursday's level the next day.
Pool Corporation rose 14% after earnings

Pool Corporation (POOL) rose 14.4% to close at $197.21 on the day it reported third-quarter results. According to an 8-K (Items 2.02, 7.01 and 9.01) filed with the SEC, the company reported Q3 results and confirmed its 2026 earnings guidance range. It did not raise guidance. MarketBeat reported earnings per share beat estimates by $0.04.
The 8-K only attaches the press release and has no figures in its body. The comparison with estimates comes from an outside outlet and is not in the filing itself. The stock had slid from about $160 to $154 in early October before jumping nearly 7% on Oct. 15, and then rose again. StocksToTrade headlines before the report mentioned a target cut alongside earnings, so low expectations may have helped. The Globe and Mail reported a 10.6% gain at one point in the session, less than the closing move.
To judge durability, check whether the guidance range in the attached press release matches the prior one and whether one-time items are mixed into the results. Also watch whether the stock holds above its pre-earnings close of $171.71.
Concentrix Corporation rose 14% and no reason has been found

Concentrix Corporation (CNXC) rose 13.8% to close at $34.25, and there is no filing or company statement explaining why. The only SEC filing in the past week is a SCHEDULE 13G/A (a change in a large holder's stake) dated Oct. 21, and there is no 8-K. The stock is up 21% in two days and 28.5% in five, and Thursday's dollar volume of about $56.9 million was 2.7% of its roughly $2.1 billion market cap.
The news does not point to a company-specific catalyst either. AlphaStreet's headline says only that it rose 10.8% during a sector-wide rally. Other coverage was a report of a Pomerantz investigation into possible securities fraud after earnings warnings and large goodwill impairments (Oct. 21) and a $0.37 dividend, neither of which explains a rally. The reason for the rise is unconfirmed.
To see whether it lasts, watch for any 8-K or press release from the company and whether volume holds the next day. If the cause was a sector rally, the stock should move together with peers. The content of the 13G/A needs to be checked separately.
How the stocks we covered last time did
Closing prices on Oct. 22, by the verdict we gave at the time:
| Stock | Article date | Verdict then | Move since |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veradermics (MANE) | 10/20 | Filing | +13.3% |
| Kyndryl (KD) | 10/16 | Report only | +15.2% |
| Zillow Group (Z) | 10/16 | Report only | +8.0% |
| Lionsgate Studios (LION) | 10/21 | Report only | +4.5% |
| Braze (BRZE) | 10/21 | Filing | +0.6% |
| Disc Medicine (IRON) | 10/20 | Filing | -4.9% |
| SELLAS Life Sciences (SLS) | 10/21 | No reason found | -5.3% |
| Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF) | 10/20 | Earnings | -7.4% |
The three stocks backed by filings split (+13.3%, +0.6%, -4.9%), while all three backed by reports alone rose. The stock with no reason found fell 5.3%, and the earnings-driven one fell 7.4%. The sample is too small to link a verdict to later returns.
