Only the filing-backed stock slipped; report-based ones rose
Of the six surge stocks we covered, only the three U.S. names had a trading day after our articles. The one backed by a filing dipped; report-based and unclear ones rose.

Seoul — KOSPI fell this week while KOSDAQ rose. Of the surge stocks we covered, only the three U.S. names had a trading day after our articles. The one with a "filing" verdict was the only one to slip, while report-based and unclear names kept rising. It is one day of data.

This week's market
Paper Trail's own market notes say KOSPI fell 3.1% for the week and KOSDAQ rose 4.25%. The notes attribute this to weakness in large chip stocks plus a KOSDAQ rotation into batteries and biotech. They flag that as an estimate, not confirmed by news this week.
On Oct. 8, the last Korean close, KOSPI fell 2.62% to 6,625.93 and KOSDAQ fell 0.69% to 892.27.
In the U.S., the notes show the S&P 500 up 1.16% and the Nasdaq 100 up 0.23% for the week. The semiconductor ETF (SMH) fell 4.32%, and the VIX dropped to 14.84. On Friday, the S&P 500 rose 0.59% to 7,811.54 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.64% to 27,366.17.
The notes say the 10-year yield remains above 5%, a weight on small caps. The Russell 2000 fell 0.92% on the week.

"Move after" compares the Oct. 9 close with the close cited in our article. Our U.S. coverage is in Haemonetics jumped 17%, but the CSL deal came out in August. The Korean names were in HLB Biostep up 2.2x in three days, with no filing.
Filing verdict. In an Oct. 8 8-K, Haemonetics said CSL expects to finish switching to its devices by the end of 2027 across all current U.S. plasma centers. The company said details are still to be set and left fiscal 2027 guidance unchanged. It plans to discuss the impact on its November earnings call. After rising 17.46%, the stock closed 0.7% lower the next day.
Reports verdict. Securitize rose 9.2% on coverage of its tokenized-stock launch and a Korean partnership with LG CNS. It is still 16.9% below its Sept. 28 close of $16.63. Its only filings in the past 7 days are three Form 4s from Sept. 14.
Unclear. Veradermics rose another 3.4% to $130.90, its highest close since July 10. There were no filings in the past 7 days, and the data does not show why it rose.
Korean trio. Our price data shows no trading day after the articles, so they are left out of the comparison. One item for the record: HLB Biostep received a investment-warning designation notice on the evening of Oct. 8.
The sample is three U.S. stocks over one trading day. It does not show that filing-backed moves are weaker than report-based ones. We will extend this record with next week's prices.
