Why Hanwha Systems Stock Fell 18% This Week With No Bad Filing
Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Engine and Pharma Research each lost 15% to 18% this week. Our automated check found no adverse filing for any of them.

Seoul — Hanwha Systems fell 17.9% this week, Hanwha Engine 15.6% and Pharma Research 15.2%. Paper Trail's automated check of the past seven days of DART filings and news headlines found no bad-news keywords such as rights offerings, convertible bonds, losses or lawsuits for any of the three. So none has a company problem confirmed by a filing. Hanwha Engine does face allegation reports, and Hanwha Systems and Pharma Research have financial or earnings worries in the press.
On Oct. 23 the KOSPI rose 0.3%. The same day Hanwha Systems fell 10.55%, Pharma Research 7.25% and Hanwha Engine 5.92%. The KOSDAQ lost 1.62%. The market moves do not explain the size of these drops.

Hanwha Systems: down 17.9% in a week, no bad filing
Hanwha Systems went from 80,500 won on Oct. 16 to 66,100 won. The big daily drops were 15.0% on Oct. 20 and 10.55% on Oct. 23. It is 19.4% below its three-month high of 82,000 won, but still 4.9% above its July 27 level.
Paper Trail's check of 14 filing and news headlines found no bad-news keywords. Filings included price-limit widening notices (down) on Oct. 20 and 23, a decision to transfer shares in another company on Oct. 16, and an unconfirmed reply to an exchange inquiry. Titles alone do not show the counterparty, the amount or what the inquiry covered.
Press reports cut both ways. One outlet reported a debt ratio of 189% after a 3 trillion won raise, and another reported 34.5 billion won of share collateral for Jamsil MICE. A third said Canada is looking at Hanwha Systems as an alternative to Starlink. None of this is confirmed as the cause of the drop.
On how far it has fallen: RSI is 38.6, short of oversold. The stock sits at 18% of its 52-week range and 29.8% below its 200-day average. Order-book volume shows 17,291 buy against 8,769 sell. Investor-by-investor flow data was not available.
Hanwha Engine: down 15.6%, allegations but no filing
Hanwha Engine went from 37,700 won to 31,800 won. It is 40.9% below its three-month high of 53,800 won and 33.1% below its July 27 level. It fell 8.54% on Oct. 20, 4.71% on Oct. 22 and 5.92% on Oct. 23.
Paper Trail's check of 12 headlines found no bad-news keywords. Press reports exist outside that check, though. A lawmaker raised allegations at the parliamentary audit that the company lured STX Engine staff and took materials, and the Fair Trade Commission said it would check thoroughly. No filing covers this, and whether a probe has started is unconfirmed.
There is evidence on the other side. A supply contract was filed on Oct. 15, and a 132.2 billion won marine engine deal with Samsung Heavy Industries was reported on Oct. 22. Reports also say shipbuilding stocks were weak this month. Peer price data was not part of our material, so we did not call this a sector move.
On how far it has fallen: RSI is 18.8, a short-term oversold zone. The stock is at the bottom of its 52-week range (0%) and 38.2% below its 200-day average. That measures the size of the drop, not the cause.
Pharma Research: down 15.2% on the day of a Costco listing
Pharma Research went from 279,000 won to 236,500 won. It is 48.8% below its three-month high of 461,500 won (Aug. 28) and 36.1% below its July 27 level. It fell 7.25% on Oct. 23.
That day the company said its Rejuran Cosmetic brand would enter 25 Costco stores in the U.S. The stock still fell. Filings were limited to price-limit widening notices, and Paper Trail's check of 12 headlines found no bad-news keywords.
The other evidence is a sector report. ETNews said Korea's three leading aesthetic-medicine companies, Hugel, Classys and Pharma Research, face slower growth and margin pressure in Q3 because of a stronger won and softer demand. Results are not out yet, so this is a concern in the press, not a confirmed number.
On how far it has fallen: RSI is 21.3, a short-term oversold zone, and the stock is at the bottom of its 52-week range. Earnings strength passes 5 of 5 checks: profitable, positive free cash flow, manageable debt, ROE above 10% and revenue growth of 27.1%. Order-book volume shows 3,857 buy against 360 sell. Investor flow data was not available.
What to check next
For Hanwha Systems, look at the counterparty and amount in the share transfer filing and at the Q3 earnings release. For Hanwha Engine, watch for a regulator probe or a company response filing. For Pharma Research, see whether Q3 results show the sector slowdown and how investor flows look. The lack of a bad filing does not mean a rebound.
