Why Almec and L&C Bio Fell Today: A Stock Split Hides in the Math
Almec lost 21.17% in one session, and its last week of filings held only exchange warnings. L&C Bio fell 19.07% from its ex-rights reference price.

Seoul — Almec closed at 55,100 won on Monday, down 21.17%. L&C Bio closed at 24,400 won, down 19.07% from its ex-rights reference price. Almec has no filing that explains the drop. L&C Bio has no confirmed cause beyond the ex-rights adjustment.
KOSDAQ fell 3.26% and KOSPI fell 1.46% the same day. Paper Trail's own check records show both names were picked from the day's biggest decliners at the close. They carry no buy judgment.
At a glance
| Stock | Why it fell | Verdict | Evidence | What to check next |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Almec | No filing explains the drop. An investment-warning designation notice came on Oct 22 | Cause not confirmed | None (the warning notice is a confirmed filing) | Whether the warning is confirmed; any filing on the new business |
| L&C Bio | A 1-for-1 bonus issue cut the reference price to 30,150 won, then the stock fell another 19.07% | Cause not confirmed | Ex-rights confirmed by filing; no cause for the extra drop | Record date (Oct 27), new share listing, any new short-selling halt |
Almec: down 21% in a day, but no company problem in the filings

Almec's three-month high close was 70,800 won on Oct 22. Today's close is 22.2% below that. The five-day change is -11.8%. Since July 28 the stock is still up 134.0%. It has moved more than 8% in a day several times over the past month, so today's drop fits a pattern of large swings.
DART shows two filings in the past seven days. Both are exchange measures dated Oct 22. One is an investment-caution designation for heavy buying by a small number of accounts. The other is a notice of a possible investment-warning designation. No earnings miss, capital raise or lawsuit was filed in that window. On Oct 22, Topstar News pointed to a 79.70% gain over 15 days. This morning Maeil Business's market desk ran a piece on the value of Almec's space and aerospace business. That business is confirmed only by press reports, not by a filing.
The 3.26% KOSDAQ decline may have played a part. Almec fell more than six times as much, so the index does not explain it. On how far it has fallen: the 14-day RSI is 56.9, which is not oversold. The stock sits at 43% of its 52-week range and 4.6% above its 20-day average. Volume was 1.7 times normal. At the time of the check, resting sell orders were 1,219 against 605 buy orders. Trading value and investor-flow data were not available. Our overheating check found zero signals. The cause of the drop is not confirmed from the data at hand.
L&C Bio: -64% on screen, -19% against the ex-rights price

L&C Bio went ex-rights today on a 1-for-1 bonus issue. The Oct 23 close of 60,200 won was reset to a reference price of 30,150 won. That change comes from a larger share count, not from lost value. Today's close of 24,400 won is 19.07% below the reference price. The unadjusted five-day change (-63.6%) and the drop from the three-month high (-64.4%) do not include the adjustment, so they overstate the fall. Do not read them as the real decline.
No filing explains the extra 19.07% drop. The recent filings do contain items worth weighing against that. A corrected rights-plus-bonus issue decision (shareholder offering with a public offering of unsubscribed shares) was filed on Oct 12, followed by the final issue price, the Oct 16 subscription result and the Oct 22 issuance result. Short-selling overheating designations came on Oct 8, 13 and 15. Today's news was a presentation of nerve-reconstruction clinical cases and the ECM business, and no negative article turned up. By Paper Trail's own check, revenue grew 88.4% and the debt test passed. The company did not pass the profitability, free-cash-flow or ROE tests. It passed 2 of the 6 fundamentals checks that could be measured.
The checks on how far it fell use unadjusted prices and may exaggerate. RSI is 34.3, the 52-week range position is 6%, and the stock is 24.9% below its 200-day average. All three ignore the ex-rights adjustment. Volume was 2.7 times normal. At the time of the check, resting buy orders were 4,439 against 841 sell orders. That balance says nothing about what comes next.
Two things to check next. For Almec, whether the investment-warning designation is confirmed and whether a formal filing on the new business appears. For L&C Bio, the Oct 27 record date, the listing schedule for the new shares, and any new short-selling overheating designation. The next earnings date for either company is not in this data.
